Kansas City parade will showcase MLB All-Star Game players

The eighth annual Major League Baseball?

The event is at 1 p.m. on July 10. George Brett, MLB All-Star Ambassador and 13-time MLB All-Star, will serve as grand marshal, leading the parade through the streets. Then Ron Washington and Tony La Russa ? the American League and National League All-Star team managers, respectively ? will lead their teams down the carpet in Chevrolet Camaro Convertibles.

Players, riding in 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickups, will wind half a mile through the Country Club Plaza?

The event ?is a unique and unforgettable way for baseball fans in Kansas City to take part in All-Star Week,? Tim Brosnan, executive vice president of business for Major League Baseball, said in a release.

The Red Carpet show will be broadcast nationally on the MLB Network.

The All-Star game will be played later that evening. The game determines which league has home field advantage in the World Series.
